Blood Dusk Helpfiles

policy

Description
Blood Dusk's policies are straightforward. We are all here to have fun. If you don't cause any problems, we won't mess with you. Conduct yourself accordingly and always remember: it's all for fun!
Specific policy issues:
Player Killing (PK) / Player-vs-Player (PvP): Combat, stealing, and other PvP actions are allowed (and encouraged, as long as they are within the context of roleplaying) on Dusk. See help on player killing.

Harassment: This is when aggressive actions against a certain player get carried beyond what is considered normal gameplay. This can mean constant, unjustified aggression; it can also mean verbal harassment. Harassment is not allowed, and its definition is subject to the discretion of the administrators.

Multicharing: Multi-charing, or playing more than one character at a time, is not allowed under any circumstance. See multicharing.

Cutting Link: Purposely cutting link to avoid PvP, or in fact for any other reason than a linkjam, is not permitted. You can 'quit' at almost any time, so it should not be necessary to cut link.

Bugs: Should you discover a bug, please report it via the "bug" command (or email to admin@dusk.org if it requires a lengthy description). The first person to report bugs, especially serious ones, may receive a reward. Bug abuse, that is, using the bug for gain of your character, is allowed IF you first report the bug! Should this abuse get out of hand, however, this policy will be changed, so take it easy. Game-crashing bugs are exempt from this policy, as they are particularly destructive to the game environment. Those who intentionally crash the game while exploiting a bug (as opposed to testing a suspected bug) may face a disabled account and a banned IP.

Accounts: Only one account is allowed per player, and may not be shared. Any number of characters can belong to that account. Multiple accounts constitutes multicharing.

Character names: Names should fit within the context of an RP-oriented MUD. It's acceptable to use names from popular works, such as "Bilbo" or "Aslan", as long as you aren't pretending to be those characters and the names are RP-oriented (Pikachu would not be appropriate). Silly or offensive names will not be allowed and distasteful names could lead to in-game punishments or even a ban. Compound names, such as "KingBruce" or "LittleJohn" are not allowed. Instead, keep names to a single, first name. Common names that don't belong in a fantastical setting, such as Billy (William is acceptable) or Tony should be avoided and could be deleted at the staff's discretion. If you aren't sure about a name, ask someone on the staff. Skills, experience, or anything else lost due to character deletion for breaking the naming policy will not be reimbursed. Low frequency of use of the character has no impact on this policy.
