Real estate in the city (and sometimes beyond) comes up for purchase from time to time. When it does, you can go to the real estate office to place a bid. Similar to the auctioneer, the real estate agent allows you to list available properties and their current bids, bid on properties that are available, and collect properties that you have won, assuming you have the proper amount of money in your inventory.

The bid command's first argument is the number shown in the display list, followed by the amount of money you wish to bid. So if there is only one property for sale, the command "bid 1 3 diamond" will bid three diamond on it. You must bid a minimum of one diamond for any property. Each time a bid is placed the purchase timer is reset to 24 real-world hours. Once the timer has counted to zero with no competing bids, the current high bidder will be able to come and collect his property.

Once you have collected your property, you will be provided with a deed and the door key. Don't loose these items - they cannot be replaced! The key allows you to get in. The deed, while in hand, will allow you to alter the property to customize it to your liking.
